Floral Design

Floral Design offers students in-depth, comprehensive training in preparation for employment in the floral industry or further education in a two- or four-year postsecondary program.

Learning takes place in the classroom and on-campus flower shop, at community sites and businesses, and through regional competitions and shows. Students learn the creative and business aspects of the floral industry as well as about plant biology and identification.

Retail/wholesale floral supplier
Botanical illustrator

Floral design
Plant biology and identification
Merchandising and sales
Customer Relations
Integrated science (1st year students)
Integrated English (2nd year students)

Portfolio:
Students create a portfolio that they present to teachers, administrators, peers and/or industry professionals. The portfolio includes employability information and exemplary work in technical and communication skills that students have created and developed over the course of the year.
 
Post-Secondary Education:
Students completing the Floral Design program may enter the workforce or choose to continue their education at the college level.
